Take part in the Heritage Challenge and support the restoration of the Museum van Buuren
For several years now, the Royal Institute for Artistic Heritage (KIK-IRPA) has been organizing the HERITAGE CHALLENGE, an initiative aimed at preserving and restoring exceptional Belgian heritage treasures. For the 2024 edition, the winner will benefit from the services of KIK-IRPA, worth 25,000 euros, thanks to the support of the National Lottery. This year, among the 7 masterpieces in competition is the van Buuren Museum and Gardens, a veritable jewel of Art Deco.

During the festive season, the van Buuren Museum & Gardens will be open on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, offering a peaceful and festive atmosphere.
However, the museum will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2025.

Built in 1928, David van Buuren’s house presents an Amsterdam School exterior and an Art Deco interior by renowned decorators from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. With original rare furniture, carpets, stained glass, sculptures, and paintings from the 16th through to the 20th centuries, it retains the feel of a private home. The gardens, designed by Jules Buyssens in the 1920s and René Pechère in the 1960s, include the Regular, Picturesque and Rose Gardens, as well as the Labyrinth and the Heart Garden, making it an ideal place for strolling and reflection.
